13th VÖBU Fair & 14th Austrian Geotechnical Conference

„Foundations"  VIENNA -Terzaghi Lecture -  at THE Austrian geotechics event

Vienna, February 1st + 2nd, 2024

The Association of Austrian Drilling, Well Construction and Specialised Civil Engineering Enterprises (VÖBU), officially invites to the VÖBU FAIR and 14th Austrian Geotechnical Conference, which are going to be held as a cooperative event, from February 1st + 2nd, 2024 in the Messe Wien Congress Center.

Under the heading of "Imponderabilities of design and execution in geotechnical engineering“, Austria´s biggest geotechnics event provides an ideal platform for discussion and exchange of knowledge for industry-related matters.

The popular industry meeting point receives its academic support from the Vienna University of Technology while all organisational matters fall under the responsibility of VÖBU. With its 77 exhibitors and 1000 expected visitors as well as its numerous lectures (including the "Vienna-Terzaghi Lecture") and expert discussions, this event presents a unique opportunity to network and keep up-to-date with the latest scientific and practical developments - all in the span of two days.

AGC and VÖBU FAIR: Industry meeting point at the Messe Wien Congress Center

Austria´s top geotechnical and special civil engineering professionals gather for the fourth time at the Messe Wien Congress Center event venue for the AGC and VÖBU FAIR. Ing. Thomas Pirkner, CEO of VÖBU, states: "The Congress Center proved itself as the ideal location for this event due to its easy accessibility. Its proximity to local infrastructure, modern lecture rooms, easily installed exhibition booths and last but not least the opportunity for intense networking in its meeting lounge away from the hustle and bustle of the fair make it the perfect conference venue."

Free admission to VÖBU FAIR on Thursday, Feburary 1st 2204 from 02:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
For the first time, interested parties can visit the VÖBU FAIR free of charge on the first day of the exhibition with a registration on site and thus get to know the special flair of the event.

The VÖBU Fair and Austrian Geotechnical Conference stand for top-quality business-to-business networking, for VÖBU members and other interested parties alike. Exhibitors from the professional fields of soil engineering, drilling and well construction can participate biennally by booking one of the different exhibition packages.

With its approximately 1000 participants from both academic and enterpreneurial backgrounds in geotechnical engineering, the fair presents an ideal mix between theory and practice. The conference receives its scientific support under the auspices of Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. techn. Dietmar Adam, Director of the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology. Engineers, entrepreneurs as well as students and lecturers are encouraged to attend and contribute in discussions in order to foster the convergence of theoretical and practical aspects of geotechnics and facilitate networking between individuals and businesses.

Both national and international experts are invited to talk at the 14th Austrian Geotechnical Conference about the topic of imponderabilities of geotechnical engineering in order to provide an appealing conference programme filled with interesting construction projects and the newest geotechnical developments.
